.jpg) Mitra was born in Iran, Shiraz 1977 where she spent her childhood until the age of 11. She moved to the UK in 1988 (Leeds) where her interest in communication and the arts continued to flourish. She later studied towards a BA Hons in Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University and continued her studies towards a theory and Practice PhD in Fine Art which was completed in 2005. Mitra devides her time between various creative activities and visits Iran as often as she can. Her connection to Iran is central to her ongoing interest in the notion of identities and representation.
